ONE hires Sarah Swinehart as Communications Director for North America

WASHINGTON — The ONE Campaign, the global advocacy organization co-founded by U2 lead singer Bono to fight extreme poverty and preventable diseases, has appointed Sarah Swinehart as its new communications director for North America. Swinehart will manage ONE’s messaging, communications strategy and media engagement for the U.S. and Canada. She previously worked as a vice president at Edelman on the media services and strategy team, and as the director of media affairs for Speakers Paul Ryan and John Boehner.

“Having an aggressive and well-crafted communications strategy can make a real difference confronting some of world’s biggest challenges, including unprecedented threats to development programs that save lives, lift millions out of poverty and bring hope to millions,” said Tom Hart, North America executive director at The ONE Campaign. “Hiring someone of Sarah’s experience and talents is an important part of ONE’s ongoing efforts to help the world’s poorest, prevent cuts to life-saving foreign assistance programs, and advance bipartisan legislation in Congress. Sarah is well respected by journalists and staff on Capitol Hill and will be a valuable addition to the ONE team. We’re excited to welcome her.”

“I’m thrilled to be a part of ONE’s incredible efforts to end extreme poverty and preventable disease by 2030,” said Sarah Swinehart, North America communications director at The ONE Campaign. “ONE has an impressive track record of achieving bipartisan results for the world’s poorest. It’s a great opportunity to help ONE advocate for those who need it most.”
